Baik SK/Kim TH/Han BH
Abstract
Methanol extract of Ilex pubescens roots prolonged bleeding time threefold, and inhibitied the generation of malondialdehyde released during platelet aggregation induced by thrombin. Through several purification procedures, its saponin, named ilexoside, was proved to be responsible for the antithrombotic activities of the plant. Ilexosides A, -D and -J, and 24-carboxypomolic acid showed strong inhibitory activities on platelet aggregation induced by thrombin.
